Longevity Wellness Center's Mission
The mission of Longevity Wellness Centers is to demystify the processes of aging and provide the tools and knowledge people need to live the life they have imagined.
Longevity Wellness Center's Values
Whole-Person Care
  • We will attend not only to the physical but also to the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of each individual

Relationship and Patient–Centered Care

We recognize the fundamental importance of the relationship between the patient and the health care provider
We are deeply respectful of the wishes and experience of the individual patient, and value the patient as an active partner in their own care

Self–Care

We believe that health care providers should be teachers, facilitating patients in caring for themselves in order to prevent, delay, or minimize age-related decline and disease
We recognize that providers should themselves embody a philosophy of self-care and, in being truly attentive of their own health and well-being, better serve the needs of others

Evidence–Based

We support informed decision-making based on the best available evidence on the safety and effectiveness of all treatment and lifestyle options

Longevity Wellness Center's Philosophy
The declines with age are far more related to a lifetime of unenlightened choices than they are to the ticking of a clock.

Unhealthy choices may lead to functional biologic age equivalent to someone 15-20 years older

Normal aging and pathologic aging are different

Pathologic aging, which is the aging process brought on by the presence of disease’ is not considered "normal" aging.

Effective intervention suggests that every process of aging be addressed

We can positively impact the pathways of aging, resulting in slower and more uniform decline in our functional ability, balance, and reserve capacity
Longer life spans are the result of healthy choices and interventions

Experience is the only thing that changes us

When we embrace the richness of our past, we can begin to uncover the treasures of our future
The only true experiences occur when we live in the present moment

Preventive-aging medicine seeks to

Embrace and celebrate natural aging, and every stage of life
Optimize whole-person well-being, health, and vitality - physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually
Prevent, diminish, or delay pathological causes of premature aging and mortality

We are the Artist of the rest of our life

Our life as a living work of art.
We do not exist to find ourselves. We exist to create ourselves

Optimum whole-person aging is more than the imitation of youth

There are valued human attributes that increase with age
With the passage of time comes the accumulation of meaningful experiences, and wisdom, which can be shared with others

With optimum health and greater longevity we have more opportunities to seek

Greater happiness
A greater, more holistic self-awareness and acceptance
Spiritual enlightenment

A Manifesto
The superior physician helps before the early budding of the disease. The inferior physician begins to help when the disease has already developed. Yellow Emperors Classic of Internal Medicine, Huang Ti Nei Ching Su Wen, 2697-2597 BC. In this most modern of days and availed of the greatest medical advancements in history we have chosen to live in the Dark Ages. At a time when we have decoded the complex sequences in our genes, we have yet to decipher the simple balances within ourselves. We have treated aging as a bemoaning not a becoming. We have trampled our own time-tested truths in a frantic and flawed race against the clock. And we have paid a terrible price - trading wisdom for wealth, aspiration for appearance, science for superstition, and mastery for the momentary. When will we awaken and chase the darkness of doubt with the light of insight? We reject the current dismal and disenchanted view of aging. The darkness of diminished functioning is far more related to a lifetime of unenlightened choices than it is to the ticking of an unrelenting clock. And we are not content to rely only on downstream approaches that expensively examine symptoms and appearances, while leaving the upstream causes undiscovered and unaddressed. At Longevity Wellness Centers we declare now as a new age of enlightenment and our Work as a vibrant source of illumination. We will lift the shroud of fear and demystify the process of aging. We will provide the tools and knowledge people need to live the life theyve imagined. We will arouse a radiant spirit of vitality in every person we touch. And we will stir an insatiable curiosity about what each of us might become. Our work will be a beacon of hope, a shining signal that the best of days are still ahead no matter where we find ourselves today. Our work will be a balance between science and art, evidence and belief, logic and imagination, outward beauty and inward meaning.

How do you break a bad habit?
Keep track of the behavior by writing down what happens, the situation at the time, and what you were thinking and feeling. Think about what you wrote down and see what this habit does for you and if it is a reaction to anger, anxiety, boredom or stress. Gaining insight into your habits is the first step to getting them under control so that you can live a healthier life! Don't forget to get support from others!
